About this piece
A clay tawa heats slowly and evenly from edge to centre, so rotis puff and brown without scorching. Allow a few minutes to preheat on a low flame. Never pour cold water on a hot tawa.

Use & care
Before first use, soak in water for 6–8 hours, dry, then rub the inside with a little oil and heat gently. Always start on a low flame and raise it slowly; never place on a flame when empty. Wash with warm water, a soft scrubber and a little baking soda or ash — avoid soap, which the clay can absorb. Dry completely, upside-down, before storing.
